Background/Interests: I've been teaching at Nome-Beltz for three years and am looking forward to next year. Some of the many things I enjoy doing when not in the classroom include: reading, skiing, hiking, biking, kayaking and rafting, training my dog, knitting and spinning, and actively working for social justice and peace. This summer I am travelling to the World Peace Forum in Vancouver and then to China in July, as a volunteer teacher.

What we're up to now.....

The Junior High had a great year. As fourth quarter winds down, students are busy finalizing their reading and language arts projects. Eighth graders are completing their independent reading assignments with journal writes, synthesis notes, and a final book review or poster. Seventh graders are spending a final week or two completing their literature circles with posters. What great learners we have here at Beltz!

ALL students will be putting together mutli-media presentations to demonstrate what they learned when researching their topics for language arts.

And finally, when we're done with books, and multi-media, we're going to have a great 8th grade celebration field trip to Safety Sound. Will the ice be out by 5/18? Seventh graders will get to enjoy an afternoon climb up Anvil Mountain.

Please don't hesistate to contact me with any concerns or questions. More info about our end of the year field trips will be on the way.
