Background: I grew up in Anchorage and graduated from Service High School in 1999. I spent my junior year as an exchange student to Ecuador, which is where I learned most of my Spanish and developed a love for other cultures. I started college at the University of California, San Diego, and graduated from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma in 2003. I moved home and completed my Masters of Arts in Teaching from UAA in 2006.
Living off the road system has been a dream of mine since high school, so when I saw that Nome needed both a Spanish and a history teacher, I knew it was time to pack my bags and head north! Nome has been a great fit for me, and I am proud to live and work in this community. My students inspire and challenge me every day, and I attempt to do the same for them.
