The last battle of the Revolutionary War was in the city Yorktown, Virginia it was in the year 1781.

In the wars, a lot of colonists died because most had never shot a gun or had training. So, George Washington trained the colonists like real military soldiers. In war, Washington kept looking for more people to fight. In the second to last war, Cornwallis who fought for British brought 7,00 men to wait for supplies. The men slept while waiting for supplies. The supplies included guns, gunpowder, soldier suits, and some food for the soldiers.

Washington fought along with the French, and attacked the British in Yorktown on the soldiers at nightfall. Cornwallis surrendered his troops and himself after most of Cornwallis' people either died or got wounded.

Two years later in September 3, 1783 the U.S. British leaders signed the Treaty of Paris which eventually ended the war.

In may 1787, U.S. leaders gathered in Philadelphia to form a new government. The next year the U.S. Constitution was officially approved by all the states. The congress elected Washington to be President of the United States of America. Washington was the first president of the U.S.A.
