8TH GRADE FIELD TRIP POLICY - All overnight student travel participation is optional. - Each overnight trip will be a carefully planned activity that must be approved by APC. ELIGIBILITY - Students must be currently attending ACSA as an 8th grader to attend the 8th grade field trip. - Chaperones shall be approved by the APC, prior to the trip. EXPENSES - Eligible participants’ expenses associated with the trip must be paid by the participants themselves, covered by fund raising or personal funds. - When travel is suspended due to safety or other consideration beyond the control of any or all involved, participants should not expect refunds for cancellations either individually or as a group. PARENT MEETINGS All parents/guardians and eligible participants will be informed, prior to the trip, of the following: ? Proposed travel itinerary, anticipated cost per student, fund raising efforts, and the potential for non-refunds or expenditures when trips are cancelled. ? Necessary forms for travel. ? Importance of safety related rules and procedures for the trip. ? Responsibilities of students and chaperones. ? Standards of safe and considerate conduct for everyone concerned with the trip. REQUIRED FORMS for Travel - Signed parent/guardian permission form - emergency contact information, proof of medical insurance coverage, and the authorization for emergency medical treatment for each participant. - Completed and signed Release and Indemnification Agreements for each participant. FUND RAISING - Participation in any and all fund raising activities will be strictly voluntary. - All fund raising shall be for trip expenses; such as airfare, lodging, ground transportation, food, educational admissions. - Funds raised are non-refundable. - Any surplus funds are applied towards 8th grade field trip expenses. - Individual student fund raising efforts will be tracked. |
Cameras / Cell Phones / MP3 / CD / DVD / Other Electronic Devices:
These items are prohibited on the school bus and on campus. Students in visible possession or usage of these items will have the items confiscated by the school personnel. Confiscated items must be picked up by a parent / guardian. The lead teacher will store confiscated electronic devices in the office. Cameras may be used on special occasions with prior approval from the lead teacher and with direct teacher supervision. |
