Studded sea balloon look like a tree with watermelons on it. The color of this seaweed is red and brown. The pale brown globular sacs are up to about 2 inches.

This seaweed can be found in the Bering Sea, Aleutian Islands, to Santa Barbara, California, and the Western North Pacific. The studded sea balloons are only found in temperatures no higher then 68 degrees F, any hotter and it will die.

The studded sea balloons are found just above the low tide mark.
