The ALISON Project Students from ACSA are participating in a project entitled ALISON, the Alaska Lake Ice and Snow Observatory Network. The project is headed by Dr. Martin Jeffries, Research Professor of Geophysics, at the Geophysical Institute, University of Alaska Fairbanks. It is designed to include teachers and students from around the state in a research project studying lake ice, snow and conductive heat flow in the State of Alaska. ACSA is one of a handful of Alaskan schools included in the project. Over the course of the past four winters, students have been collecting data on snow depths, temperature readings, and ice thickness. For more information about the project, check out the ALISON web site. |
