A patriot is one who loves, supports, and defends one's own country. Without patriots, we probably wouldn't be Americans as we are today. I believe this because we have been in a lot of wars and in some of them we have won, and so we recognize our patriots that way.

Right now, there are many American Soldiers in Iraq, fighting for the Iraqis' freedom. These soldiers could be sitting at home with their families. Since their love for our country is so strong, they want to support our country and would risk their own lives for someone else's needs.

The soldiers are not the only ones who deserve credit. Nurses who travel around the world to go to Iraq; they are saving lives as we speak. They help out so much, they are able to recover the soldiers and let them go back out to war or go home.

The Air Force members are also patriots. They are able to fly anything over from America over to Iraq. Items range from clothing, food, medical needs and possibly people. They are also able to drop bombs if needed or transport people. The Air Force plays a big role in our world, because how else would we get the items we need in a couple of hours?

I believe today's patriots are all of the American Soldiers, the nurses, and the Air Force. We are at war right now, and I think they have all done something special for America.
