The book takes place in England during modern times. The main character is an eleven-year-old boy name Harry Potter.
Harry Potter is no average boy. In fact, he is quite the opposite. Being the only son of James and Lily Potter, a witch and a wizard, he is famous for surviving The Dark Lord Voldemort. Lord Voldemort is a dark wizard and he killed Harry's parents when Harry was only one-year old. Somehow, Harry survived Lord Voldemort and the only wound that he got is now a lightning-bolt shaped scar on his forehead.

When Harry's parents died, he was sent to live with his only relatives, the Dursleys'. The Dursleys' had a boy named Dudley, who was very fat, just like his father Vernon. But, Dudley was the opposite of his mother, Petunia, who was skinny and horse-faced. The Dursleys' despised Harry. They kept him locked up in a cupboard under the stairs until, Harry's twelfth birthday. When Harry received a letter from Hogwarts' School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Harry accepted the invitation from Hogwarts' and the Dursleys' were glad to get rid of him. Harry then learned all about his past and that he was destined to be a wizard. Then, there is been a break-in at Gringotts, a bank run by goblins. Just before the robbery Harry and his new friend Hagrid take something from the safety-vault, which was the vault that was broken into. Harry and his friends, Hermoine Granger and Ron Weasley, go beyond the school rules to save the whole world from being terrorized by the Dark Lord himself, Lord Voldemort.

Will Harry be able to squeak past Voldemort once again, or will he be facing a doom that he nearly faced eleven years ago? Read the book to find out!
I liked this book because of the magic and it teaches that looks can be deceiving.
